Growing Up


As summer before my Senior year of high school begins, and I have long past celebrated my 17th birthday, I thought I should reflect upon 16 things I’ve learned when I was 16.

  1. It’s hard to be yourself, especially if you don’t know who you are yet. But I think through figuring out who I wanted to be, I just tried to be the best me I can be, and that was hard. Because I wasn’t sure if it was good enough. Then again, I knew I only needed to be good enough for me, yet I couldn’t wrap my mind around being unable to please everyone (it’s a learning process okay).
  2. It’s okay to keep your interests a secret just as much as it’s okay to let the whole world know. I read fanfiction, in fact I read a lot of fanfiction. That was something I held close to…
