The 4th Secret: Get Ready 2 Meet The Real You

be me

Warning: This might be the deepest or most complicated secret that we’re going to discuss so stick with me and keep an open mind. You can also review the first three secrets listed all in one place in case you want to review before we start.

Ok, let’s go.

Hopefully at this point you’re curious and perhaps even a little worried about who you are if you’re not the little voice in your head.

If I asked you: “Who are you?” what would you say? Our initial instincts are usually to talk about our history.

“Well, I was born in the year 2000 and I’m female and I have a mom and a dad and an annoying younger brother and a cat.”

So now you’ve told me a little bit about yourself but what if I said, “That’s nice but who are you really?”

After likely being annoyed at what seems like a dumb question you’d probably sigh and say, “Fine. I like to play basketball and read. My favorite color is blue and my favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys. When I grow up I want to be a cupcake maker.”

All very interesting I’m sure but you still haven’t answered my question.

Who are you?

Let’s review what we know for sure:

1)  You know you’re not that little voice.

2) You know you’re not your ego.

3) You know you’re more than the observations you (and your little voice) make all the time.

4) You know you are more than your age, your height, your favorite color and what you want to be when you grow up.

So, WHO THE FRIG ARE YOU?

It’s a simple answer that actually sort of blows your mind when you think about it so stick with me here.

Secret #4: You are mind, body and spirit.

Well, maybe it doesn’t sounds all the mind blowing because you’ve surely heard Mind, Body, Spirit in various contexts before.

Let’s break it down…

Mind: We’ve discussed your mind and how your thoughts (driven by your ego) are also a part of you. No need to review more. You’ve got a mind. You’ve got thoughts. You’ve got a little voice. Let’s wrap all of that into one package called Mind.

Body: Duh. Your “body” part of this equation is pretty obvious and it’s also pretty obvious you have to take care of it since it needs to drive you around while you’re here. We’ll definitely talk about health and exercise and why they’re important on this site later.

Spirit:religions call it your soul. Others call it the Universal You. Others still call it your essence.  I’m going to alternate between calling it a few different things because I don’t want you to get hung up on the terminology.

Rise above the labels. Regardless of what you call it, this is your True Self.

I’m just trying to get you to understand that you are more than your body and mind (and especially more than your little voice and ego.)

Your soul or your spirit or your Universal Self or your essence is the innermost part of who you are on earth and in eternity.

Your soul is the light that is inside you. It is your divine part of you. Your True Self. Your True Center. Your True Being. I don’t know about you, but wouldn’t you like to live all the time as that person? As your True Self?

Think about it – do you really want to be your ego?

Do you want to be that annoying, insecure, power hungry (yet never filled), needy, wanty, whiny, simple self or would you rather be this powerful light-filled divine universal being who lives their dreams to their fullest, experiences all the love and light in the world and basically has a little bit of heaven/nirvana/bliss here on earth?

Hopefully at this point I’ve convinced you that this is who you really are or least that this is who you want to be.

Whew, that was a lot and even I’m tired. We’ll break this down and discuss more. For now, just be excited that there is this really amazing awesome incredible light-filled goodness inside you! It’s like getting a surprise present for no reason!
